Meskipun saat ini ada banyak geometric modeling kernel 3D komersial (seperti ACIS, Parasolid, dll) tetapi dengan biaya lisensi tinggi. Pengembangan fungsi CAD/CAM yang dibutuhkan oleh EQUIPTOP berfokus pada perencanaan jalur benda kerja tunggal (single workpiece application) dari simulasi dan interferensi 3D dinamis, sehingga biaya single set perangkat lunak yang dikembangkan oleh EQUIPTOP sesuai dengan keperluan fungsional dan dengan demikian harga mesin EQUIPTOP menjadi lebih kompetitif.
