Gold sponsor of WCIT* 2019 Taiwan Excellence took part in one of the largest and most prestigious ICT events in the world to showcase its revolutionary innovation and technology from 7-9 October. This year, TAITRA and CISA joined together with Taiwan Excellence and Smart Taiwan Pavilions, which made Taiwan the biggest group from overseas.

The official opening ceremony took place on 7 October at Smart Taiwan Pavilion at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex (Tsitsernakaberd Park, 1 Building) attended by James Huang, TAITRA Chairman, Boris Komrakov, WITSA vice Chairman and delegations from Taiwan.

TAITRA Chairman James Huang welcomed all the guests in his opening remark: “We are honoured to be able to participate in WCIT 2019 in Yerevan, Armenia.  TAITRA is very proud to be a partner of the Taiwanese team. We work very closely with our business communities and industries holding 40 major international trade shows every year in Taipei. It gives us a unique advantage to walk hand in hand and present our best products worldwide. In our pavilions visitors will see the best agricultural technologies, smart solutions and experience the latest technologies for better and happier life”.

During three days of WCIT 2019 prize draws were organised in Taiwan Excellence pavilion participated by more than 300 visitors. Nearly 150 participants received branded gifts from Taiwan Excellence. More than 110 visitors from abovementioned 300 ones also filled questionnaires. The results showed that visitors were more interested in AI facial recognition engine by CyberLink and Conferencing System by AVER.

Taiwan is known for its key role in the global supply chain of the information and communication industry. The cutting edge, award-winning products displayed at the Expo attracted hundreds of visitors’ attention. This time, there was total 20 outstanding brands presented at Taiwan Excellence Pavilion and Smart Taiwan Pavilion. Among them was the world’s top cross platform AI facial recognition engine by CyberLink – ranked amongst the fastest and most precise algorithms in the MegaFace Challenge and NIST’s Face Recognition Vendor Test. Another product was Conferencing System by AVER that provide incredible global connection and communication experience for all meeting rooms. What’s more, there was also be the smallest ECG in the world by BriteMED, amazing hand throwing UAV for agriculture by GEOSAT and many more wonders.

These were all integrated innovative technology products, with the ability of bringing more comfortable and convenient life to consumers, which were honoured with the prestigious Taiwan Excellence Award, the initiative of The Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). The Taiwan Excellence Awards selection has been implemented to select annually the most innovative products based on their excellence in criteria including Research and Development, Design, Quality, and International marketing.
