Industrial Development Administration

The administration is responsible for the development of various industries across Taiwan. Insisting on being professional, efficient and proactive with an innovative spirit for service (core values), the bureau is driven by the needs of the private sector and endeavors to provide comprehensive services in the hopes of facilitating innovative upgrading and transitioning for industries in Taiwan in addition to actively assisting businesses.

Taiwan Excellent Brand Association

The Taiwan Excellent Brand Association functions as a “platform of knowledge exchange for virtual and physical brands”. As the only professional association in Taiwan that is solely focused on helping domestic businesses to create their brands, Taiwan Excellence Brand Association has constructed the “Outstanding Learning Enterprise in Taiwan” as a medium to pool cross-sector energies. In addition to facilitating exchanges between enterprises, the association also endeavors to promote horizontal alliance learning and collaboration. With its exclusive Branding Know-How training system, the association has constructed a truly comprehensive platform for interaction between the government, the academia and the private sector. The association also assists the academia to cultivate the “brand seeds” in order to expand the talent bank and executive energy for enterprises.

Taiwan Design Research Institute

The institute has been defined as a integrated service platform to facilitate the development of creative and innovative designs in Taiwan with the primary mission of improving designers’ creative capabilities, facilitating international design exchanges, boosting the market’s competitiveness while helping enterprises to develop the groundwork for their original brands so as to make their products more competitive.

The website introduces the contents of “Branding Taiwan Campaign the Second Phase” as promoted by the Industrial Development Bureau and channels the energies from integrated and professional teams including the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, Science and Technology Law Institute, Industrial Development and Research Institute, The institute, Commerce Development Research Institute, Stans Foundation and other domestic and international brand consultant firms to provide useful resources such as consultation and diagnostic services for domestic enterprises in all aspects of their brand development. Hopefully with the assistance and resources from the project, we will be able to help Taiwanese enterprises and brands to boost their competitiveness and shine on the global stage.

SBIR Small Business Innovation
Research

In an effort to encourage small and medium enterprises in Taiwan to strengthen their innovative technologies and product development, MOEA has established SBIR in accordance with the “Procedures Governing MOEA’s Subsidy and Assistance for Innovative Events by Industries” in the hopes of helping small and medium enterprises in the process of innovative research and development, thereby accelerating the improvement in small and medium enterprises’ competitiveness and overcome the challenges they are about to face.

Technology Development Programs

In order to better synchronize with the latest trends and demands in the private sector by developing or introducing the technologies that an industry may need at the appropriate timing, these programs help to ensure that relevant R&D technologies are duly transferred to the private sector. To this end, the Department of Industrial Technology has continued to promote three major policies: corporate technology development programs, corporate innovative research programs and academia technology development programs.
