The administration is responsible for the development of various industries across Taiwan. In an effort to encourage small and medium enterprises in Taiwan to strengthen their innovative technologies and product development, MOEA has established SBIR in accordance with the “Procedures Governing MOEA’s Subsidy and Assistance for Innovative Events by Industries” in the hopes of helping small and medium enterprises in the process of innovative research and development, thereby accelerating the improvement in small and medium enterprises’ competitiveness and overcome the challenges they are about to face.
In order to better synchronize with the latest trends and demands in the private sector by developing or introducing the technologies that an industry may need at the appropriate timing, these programs help to ensure that relevant R&D technologies are duly transferred to the private sector. To this end, the Department of Industrial Technology has continued to promote three major policies: corporate technology development programs, corporate innovative research programs and academia technology development programs.
