The Taiwan Excellence Awards were established in 1993 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan, R.O.C, (MOEA), and are regarded as the “Oscars” of Taiwanese industry, because award-winning products are selected for their excellence in R&D, design, quality and marketing as well as being manufactured domestically. The 2021 Taiwan Excellence award-winning products were announced by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (sponsored by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), Ministry of Economic Affairs) on October 27, 2020 with 433 products from 252 companies receiving the award. The top three product categories by percentage are: Information Communication (31.6%), Machinery and Components (19.2%), and Household Equipment and Hardware Construction Materials (12.9%).
Taiwan's plastics and rubber machinery industry is internationally renowned and, according to the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), its exports rank sixth in the world making it a global leader. Among the outstanding Taiwanese plastic & rubber machinery manufacturers, Chumpower Machinery Corp., Fu Chun Shin Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd., and Plasco Engineering Inc. won the 2021 Taiwan Excellence Award. Their award-winning products are detailed below.
1. ChumPower Machinery Corp. is the largest PET blow molding machine manufacturer in Taiwan. Its signature product, "Intelligent blow molding machine (CPSB-LSS8)", is the fastest blow molding machine in the world with its per cavity output of 2,250 bottles per hour being much faster than its competitors’ standard 1,800-2,000 bottles per hour. It also achieves long-term stable production and benefits customers with reasonable running costs, high speeds and strong production capacity solutions. The product is also equipped with a "BottleViewer Smart Blow Molding System", making the blowing machine more intelligent and efficient. Moreover, the product features automatic virtual measurement (AVM) and intelligent predictive maintenance (IPM), so it can provide more accurate quality inspection and maintenance prediction, making it easier to monitor production, daily maintenance and costs.
2. Fu Chun Shin Machinery Manufacture Co., Ltd. (FCS) is the leading Taiwanese manufacturer of plastic injection molding machines and its "Intelligent and advanced servo hydraulic IMM (FA-160)" is a high efficiency, energy-saving and advanced machine. Its optimized and ergonomic design along with iMF4.0 Intelligent manufacturing applicable capacity greatly improve the quality and efficiency of production. The FA-160 has a total of 11 models with a clamping force ranging from 60 to 530 tons, and provides optional specification such as for the sprayer and packaging industries which has created strong sales during the COVID-19 pandemic. The high-speed model is especially suitable for food packaging, cosmetics and optical elements.
3. Plasco Engineering Inc. is recognized globally for its complete range of plastic extrusion products. Owing to the utilization of precise temperature and extrusion controls, the high-quality monofilament made by its "Monofilament Extrusion Line (JC-MNP)" has twice the tension of similar material, over 10 grams per denier, being stronger than the average (HDPE High-Density Polyethylene or PP Polypropylene) monofilament by 5.0 to 5.5 grams per denier. Furthermore, the "Monofilament Extrusion Line (JC-MNP)" is equipped with precise temperature and gear pump melt control systems, and the overall control system monitors the complete system operation information through HMI. It smoothly handles remote monitoring functions and big data loads.
