This Vessel is completely designed and constructed by CSBC. Under the increasing needs for environmental protection, this Vessel is well installed a Ballast Water Treatment System and can comply with IMO ballast water management regulations. The Vessel also meets International Maritime Organization's Energy Efficiency Design Index standard for the year of 2020, meaning carbon emission of the Vessel has been largely reduced.
This Vessel has the following features concerning environmental protection and energy efficiency:
1. Electronic control main engine
2. M.G.O. Cooler
3. Ballast Water Treatment System
The Vessel is equipped with ES-SSB (Energy Saving – Sea Sword Bow), which is outstanding in the aspect of energy efficiency and hydrodynamic performance. When compared with traditional bulbous bow and proved by HSVA seakeeping test under Sea State 5, the ship speed of ES-SSB is higher than 0.44 knots at the same power or saving power to 9~10% at the same speed.
Furthermore, a pipe duct design located in the double bottom can easily exchange tanks of ballast water and fuel oil and accordingly reduce the bending moment. This concept is new to such feeder design and can increase the flexibility of operation.
Two tiers of high cube container can be loaded in cargo holds. Container on deck is Russian Stowed type on hatch cover, i.e. one bay of 40ft containers can be loaded and fitted above two bays of 20ft containers. Such unusual design can increase the container loading performance and the flexibility for container loading/unloading.
When compared with CSBC 1st Generation of 1800 TEU container vessel, the Fuel Oil Consumption can be reduced from 42.6 to 37.6 t/day at 19 knot. The Reduction Factor for IMO Energy Efficiency Design Index can be reduced from 11.8 % to 22.0 %.
About CSBC Corporation, Taiwan
Founded in 1973, CSBC is the largest shipbuilding company in Taiwan. We have 2 shipyards separately located in Keelung and Kaohsiung. Our main products include containership, bulk carrier, tanker, naval vessel, and special purpose vessels. Over the past 50 years of operation, we have delivered more than 747 ships in various ship types. From 1998 to 2022, 27 types (232 ships) of the ship we built were recognized as “SIGNIFICANT SHIP” by RINA (Royal Institution of Naval Architects).
Concerning main markets, we have expanded business to Asia, Southeast Asia, Americas, Africa, and Europe.
To compete in changing business environment, we’ve expanded business to ocean heavy industry such as offshore engineering. We are ambitious to become one of the world’s premier heavy industry companies!
Containership: CSBC began to construct container vessels in 1979 and has actively pursued design excellence since then. One of the most famous containerships built by CSBC is “Maersk Line”, which is the used in the movie "Captain Phillips". In the movie, Captain Phillips's character states that "the dynamic design of the ship is excellent, allowing me to cope with emergencies." This remark showcases CSBC's attention to quality.
Deck Cargo Carrier: Blue Marlin was at the time the largest deck cargo carrier built by CSBC. It is well known for shipping back the US Aegis destroyers to USA after it was being attacked and seriously damaged by terrorists in Yemen.
Tanker: Burmah Endeavour, which is an Ultra Large Crude Carrier and was built by CSBC in 1975. It at the time was the largest vessel in Taiwan and the 3rd largest in the world. It has a deck that would accommodate 62 basketball courts. When it was stood up, it’s even 40 cm higher than Kaohsiung 85 Sky Tower.
