The founder of Yuanfang Life, Wen-Cheng Chien, is an engineer imbued with the simple and persevering spirit characteristic of Taiwanese people. In 2009, these traits led Wen-Cheng to part ways with the semiconductor industry that he was familiar with and embark on an arduous entrepreneurial journey.

After three years and more than 500 failures, he finally succeeded in creating the world's smallest, patented parallel airflow, non-consumable photocatalytic air purifier. Wen-Cheng had the technology needed to change the world, and in 2018 the Yuanfang Life brand "YFLife" was born.
