The current frame cassette is an open type which is easily contaminated and reduces yield rate, and the back-end process in semiconductor packages is still a labor-intensive procedure. This frame cassette is made of metal which averages 11KG in weight while it is full loading, which is over the weight limit for a human to carry with two cassettes in each hand. There is also a risk of manual handling which causes wafer damage and harm to operators due to improper transportation. CKplas has developed the Front Opening Light Cassette Pod, which is the first on the market to allow automated transportation with an innovative design of top flange, bottom plate and supporting AMHS and AGV. It reduces particles with its innovative hermetic design and mechanical door mechanism, which avoids the risk of damage due to human error. The weight is only half that of a metal cassette, with light-weight compound engineering plastic material, and it reduces contamination issues with an anodized finish on the metal.
