HCMC MARATHON BY TECHNOLOGY BREAKTHROUGH

 

HCMC, January 13th, 2019 - Accompanying with "Dream Big with the City" journey, Taiwan Excellence once again became the title sponsor of HCMC Marathon 2019 – one of the top marathon events which has been officially listed in the national competition system in Vietnam. Up to now, the event has recorded an impressive number of over 33,000 athletes participating from all over the world. Inheriting this success, Taiwan Excellence continues to bring to life the Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zone – one of the uniquenesses of the event, featuring 22 leading Taiwanese brands in two days of January 12th – 13th, 2019.

 

 

Taiwan Excellence & HCMC Marathon: The dream we dream together is reality

 

After 4 years of accompanying and achieving remarkable success, Taiwan Excellence campaign, initiated by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and organized by the Taiwan Foreign Trade Development Association (TAITRA), has once again become the title sponsor the HCMC Marathon 2019 held on January 12th – 13th, 2019. 2019 event marks the 5th consecutive year of Taiwan Excellence powering this race in Vietnam, contributing to the promotion towards an active and healthy lifestyle to Vietnamese people. Successfully attracted more than 9,000 athletes from 60 countries competing with a distance of 42km, this event entered the national competition system with the ambition of becoming the most exciting marathon in Southeast Asia.

 

To realize this ambition, Taiwan Excellence introduced the new vision: "Innovate to Conquer", which is consistent with its yearly theme: "Taiwan Excellence: The New Standard of Innovation". Promoting community value, developing from running and borderless sports spirit, but the HCMC Marathon 2019 is not the "biggest dream” of Taiwan Excellence nor the athletes. The goals are the health benefits as well as improving the life quality by taking advantage of technological innovations in daily life.

 

In addition to the mission of building an active and healthy lifestyle to Vietnamese people, Taiwan Excellence also makes various contribution to different social projects to raise awareness and empathy for the efforts of disabled people and victims of Agent Orange. Thus, in the speech at HCMC Marathon 2019, Mr. Walter Yeh, President and CEO of Taiwan Foreign Trade Development Association (TAITRA) also emphasized: “By sharing vision to improve living standards and people health, Taiwan Excellence and HCMC Marathon promises to maintain extensive partnerships with many community-based projects, one of which can be the Orange Initiative – this project focuses on people with disabilities and Agent Orange victims.”

 

Specifically, 2019 also signifies the third year that Taiwan Excellence continues to make a donation to for the Orange Initiative through the HCMC Peace and Development Fund (HPDF). All the donation will be disbursed in the form of scholarships, bicycles, special allowances, repair for one rundown house and sponsorship for a training classes to this community overcoming their challenging conditions and circumstances.

 

Motivation to realize "Big Dream": Taiwan Technology Innovation

 

Known as the "Asian Silicon Valley" with the world's 10th most innovative creative ecosystem of technological breakthroughs, Taiwan is more than an Asian tourist paradise. During 4-year accompanying with the HCMC Marathon, Taiwan Excellence and Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zone have brought various technological achievements from the “smart island”. In addition to the main activity of the 2019 running tournament, athletes and visitors also have the opportunity to participate in many other interesting interactive activities with more than 20 leading brands from Taiwan with a series of new and modern products. Apart from high-end technology brands which are quite familiar to consumers such as ASUS, Transcend, MSI... this year's booth also gathers other promising brands that are becoming popular in variety of fields, such as Johnson, Tokuyo and Microlife's sports and health care equipment, SYM’s transportation, Firdo’s beauty care products, Want Want’s food brands, FECA’s home appliances, etc.

 

Coming to Taiwan Excellence Experiencing Zone, besides the opportunity to get close, try out and purchase the most suitable award-wining made-in-Taiwan products, visitors also experienced many interactive activities introducing unique products from the organization. Especially, on the morning of January 13th, singer – actor Minh Hang presented at the event as the celebrity endorser of Taiwan Excellence, immersing in the vibrant atmosphere with special performances, and product-experiencing activities for visitors.
