Organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the 27th ‘Taiwan Excellence Selection award-winning product list was announced October 17. 472 innovative products from 245 companies have been selected. 30 of these products from 27 companies will participate in the final selection November 5-8, to compete for the Taiwan Excellence Gold and Silver Awards.
Among the award-winning products, 332 of them were selected in ‘The 5+2 Industrial Transformation Plan’, promoted by the Taiwanese government and account for 70% of the award-winning products. Communications industry products account for 43% of the total list; the smart machinery industry accounts for 16% while the Biomedical industry accounts for 10%.
The selected biomedical products are remarkable, especially in their use of AI, Internet of Things and image technology. These products highlight Taiwan's biomedical industry transformation in maintaining international trends. High-value and high-profit esports product manufacturers continue to thrive and seek differentiation. Last year, Taiwan's machinery industry output value reached 3549.6 billion USD with an annual growth rate of 11.1%. Machineries similarly include award-winning machine tools. The machinery industry has introduced AIOT and entered the field of smart manufacturing. Some machinery manufacturers are pursuing diversification strategy and developing remote monitoring and integration management systems. Hardware manufactures are transforming into software and hardware integration service providers by enhancing the integration of hardware and software. For example, by operating on the cloud, they can achieve machine operation and production scheduling from different places.
The symbol of Taiwan Excellence honors Taiwan’s most innovative products and provide tremendous value for users worldwide. All products carrying this symbol have been selected for specific Taiwan Excellence Awards based on their excellence in R&D, design, quality, marketing, and Taiwanese manufacturing. Initiated by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Taiwan, R. O. C. in 1992, the symbol of Taiwan Excellence is recognized by 102 countries.
Award-winning companies carrying the Taiwan Excellence logo not only highlight their accolade and enjoy self-promotion, but have opportunities to join collective marketing activities organized by BOFT and TAITRA in Taiwan and in international markets. Taiwan Excellence marketing targets range from companies to consumers, and include exhibition marketing, sports marketing, brand experience, digital marketing, media reports and trade meetings.
