São Paulo, October 16, 2023 – Taiwan Excellence, an entity organized by the International Trade Administration, MOEA and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), successfully concluded its participation in the 2023 edition of Brasil Game Show, the largest games fair in America Latin. The event was held between October 10th and 15th, in São Paulo (Brazil).
The space brought together 13 Taiwanese brands that won the Taiwan Excellence award, which recognizes the best of Taiwanese design and technology: Apacer, Asus, ASRock, BenQ, Edimax, G. SKILL, Gigabyte, InWin, Makalot, Maktar, Thermaltake, TeamGroup and XPG /The date.
Over the five days of the event, which was estimated to receive 300 thousand people, they presented 45 high-performance products, including launches for the Brazilian public. These include the T-Force GD360E SIREN All-in-One ARGB liquid cooling cooler, the ASRock B660M Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard and the Thermaltake Core P3 TG Pro case. All of these products were presented at a press conference on the day opening of the fair, Wednesday (11) – which brought together 42 journalists and content producers.
In addition to seeing the items, the public at the stand participated in a series of special activities, including cosplay contests, brand activations with Brazilian influencers, daily interactive quizzes and much more.
Regarding the presence of the Taiwan Excellence stand at BGS, Kuang Jong Fong, Diretor Superintendente of the Escritório Econômico e Cultural de Taipei em São Paulo, commented that “being here represents a valuable opportunity to strengthen commercial relations between Brazil and Taiwan. We want Brazilians to learn even more about products made in Taiwan and improve their games with them,” he said.
Brands also seized the opportunity to get closer to the public. “It was a unique experience to expose, demonstrate and explain our products directly to people”, commented Eduardo Inthurn, Representative of TeamGroup. “We follow the growth of the gamer market, and participating in the Brasil Game Show with Taiwan Excellence helped to present our high-performance products to them”, added Cristina Gonçalves, ASRock’s representative onsite.
“Our participation in BGS with Taiwan Excellence exceeded all expectations and allowed us to connect with the public in the best possible way”, analyzed Thiago Tieri, Marketing Manager of Adata in Brazil. Everton Rodrigues, Thermaltake representative in the country, agrees: “This direct contact provided valuable insights and feedback in real time.”
The influencers who experienced the Taiwan Excellence products at this year's BGS were also surprised. “It was really cool to be able to participate in an activation. Giving people a cool experience is something incredible”, says Felipe Oliveira Araújo, content creator at Procrastinando TV. “It was super positive, we enjoyed it a lot.”
ABOUT TAIWAN EXCELLENCE: Its mission is to introduce Taiwan's innovative products to business leaders and consumers around the world, with the goal of raising awareness about how these innovative products are having a positive impact on our daily lives. The Taiwan Excellence Awards were established by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in 1993. Every year, eligible applicants are put through a rigorous selection system covering four key aspects of R&D, Design, Quality and Marketing to identify exceptional products that deliver innovation whilst satisfying the key criteria of being made in Taiwan. The products selected for the Taiwan Excellence Award serve as examples of national industries.
