SINGAPORE, 02 SEPTEMBER 2022 | Over three days, the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion displayed a range of Taiwan Excellence Award-winning surgical devices, medical and dental navigation solutions, Point-Of-Care Technology and decentralized medicine and mobility scooters that were brought to Medical Fair Asia 2022 by 10 of the country’s prominent innovators.
This marked Taiwan’s inaugural participation at Southeast Asia’s leading trade exhibition for the medical and health care industry, which has opened up avenues for the market to reach out to not only their trading and medical technology partners in the region but also to fulfill their goal of assisting more people to lead longer, more meaningful and healthier lives with innovative technology.
Renowned Taiwanese companies such as BENQ, Insight Medical Solutions, EPED Inc, Winnoz Technology and iXensor came together to lead the products showcase. Located in the centre of the exhibition hall under a large overhang brightly displaying the Taiwan Excellence name, the Taiwan Excellence Pavillion was hard to miss with its bustling atmosphere and range of interactive products.
Emmanuel Lespron, Regional Manager of EPED Inc., said, “After COVID, I think all of us exporters have very high expectations while going back to the “new normal”. We are very lucky to have the support of Taiwan Excellence while restarting the trade shows, providing us with this platform to connect with our target customers and expand into new regions. We believe that Medical Fair Asia is a must for us due to the proximity of the SEA countries to Taiwan, and definitely one of the most important fairs we shall never be absent from.”
Gustavo Kao, Director of Wellell Inc., Asia Pacific Department, added, “Participating in this year’s Medical Fair Asia has been a wonderful experience. Our products have garnered the interest of buyers of Southeast Asia, Australia, India and the Middle East, and it’s beyond what we expected. We also caught the eye of several distributors, doctors and even nurses who came by to enquire about our Optima Prone, which was designed to make the work of caregivers more efficient. Getting to put ourselves out there through the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion has definitely made our efforts to reach our desired audience fruitful, and we are already looking forward to bringing more of our innovations to the next Medical Fair Asia.”
Alongside these brands, Ms Wu Yi Ling, Director of Taiwan Trade Center Singapore, added that while their success stories have played a vital role in sealing Taiwan’s name as a global innovation leader in the MedTech field, Medical Fair Asia is beneficial as a platform to showcase their advanced capabilities in biotech and pharmaceuticals to the region.
“Through this medical fair, our goal was to ensure that all our exhibitors form a deeper connection with the ASEAN market, and we are happy to share that the outcome has been better than expected. Our exhibitors have also expressed that they would like to participate in the subsequent Medical Fairs under the Taiwan Excellence Pavillion, and we are looking forward to introducing more of the best of Taiwan’s MedTech to the larger industry and expanding to other regions as well.”
According to the Singapore Economic Development Board, it is foreseeable that the Asia Medical Technology market will overtake the EU as the second largest market globally. With Singapore strategically placed, MedTech companies are able to tap into regional resources with the country’s high-value MedTech manufacturing base, innovative R&D ecosystem and hub for new business model innovation. This makes it a favorable platform to propel Taiwanese innovators into the international MedTech market.
