The COVID-19 pandemic keeps raging around the world, causing international supply chain disruption. With regard to these difficulties, many countries have begun to establish their own industrial supply chains, thereby increasing the demand for machine tools. According to statistics from the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), the export value of Taiwan’s machinery and equipment reached USD 2.634 billion in April 2021, a 28.4% growth over the same period last year, with a 13.5% increase in machine tools over that timespan as well. Taiwan, as one of the top five machine tool exporting countries in the world, is recognized for efficient production management able to cope with flexible manufacturing needs in the market. Our advanced technology deals effectively with difficult manufacturing tasks and is capable of providing smart machinery and total solutions to Russia and the rest of the world.
“Taiwan Excellence - Navigating the Future of Metalworking” online press conference, was held on May 26, 2021, at the same time as the “Metalloobrabotka” exhibition, by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), MOEA, Taiwan, R.O.C., and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), in conjunction with Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI). Five leading Taiwanese companies including Ching Hung (CHMER), Chin Fong, Equiptop, Speed Tiger and Sigma. shared their advanced smart manufacturing solutions.
Mr. Patrick Chen, Chairman of Machine Tools Committee, TAMI stated in the opening remarks that the rebound of market demand in China, the United States and other markets, as well as the supply chain reshaping effect driven by the U.S.-China trade war were major factors causing the demand for metal cutting tools to continue to grow. The output value of Taiwan's machinery and equipment was USD 37.3 billion in 2020. In order to meet the increasing market demand, the output value of Taiwan's machinery and equipment is expected to increase by USD 3.6 billion to USD 42.6 billion during 2021, with an annual growth rate of 10% to 15%.
Dr. Ta-Jen Peng, Deputy Director of Intelligence Manufacturing Technology Division, Intelligent Machinery Technology Center (ITRI) indicated that Taiwan’s metalworking industry has changed from being strongly dependent on the experience of engineers to a production mode greatly assisted by smart software. Taking machine tools as an example, Taiwan can provide not only intelligent stand-alone equipment, but also entire intelligent factory solutions, which include advanced technologies such as AI applications, mechanical clouds and more in a variety of industries such as aerospace, electric vehicles, and bicycles to name a few.
Mr. Lev Hsiao, Regional Sales Manager, Ching Hung Machinery & Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. emphasized that energy conservation and carbon reduction have become very important global issues and need to be considered alongside humanity’s pursuit of further industrial development and economic growth. Ching Hung’s product, Intelligent Linear Drive Wire Cut EDM (RV series), is equipped with a "new energy-saving power supply system", an exclusive revolutionary I8+ power supply, which increases the processing speed by 15% and reduces power consumption by 20% compared with the previous generation model. Additionally, with its general fixed frequency cooler, it can save about 1,500 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month.
Mr. Charles Wu, Overseas Regional Sales Representative, Chin Fong Machine Industrial Co., Ltd. presented "ST1 Series: Straight Side Single Crank Precision Presses" which provides a wide range of stamping capabilities. The common C frame is optimized to have a straight side, which improves the rigidity of the press and product accuracy. The side-opening design also meets the needs of automated production and has high-precision and cost-saving features. It can be widely used for tasks such as blanking, drawing, bending, marking, flattening, and trimming. In addition, it can be combined with automation and an intelligent stamping system. He also introduced Chin Fong’s "Intelligent Forming Productivity Management System (iForming PMS)", which integrates the latest technologies such as AI, IoT, and big data analysis. It covers equipment, factories, products, management, and service intelligence to help customers successfully carry out digital transformation.
Mr. Charles Chang, G.M, Equiptop Hitech Corp. introduced its "High-Precision Rotary Type grinder (ERG-600)", which processes ultra-precision metal ceramic material, spindle spacers, hard and brittle materials as well as electronic and aerospace high-precision parts. The Hydrostatic rotating disk features the core skill of using the featured oil to suspend the rotating disk above the oil surface. No contact is made with the machine, thus improving accuracy, stability, auto centering, prolonging life, and reducing servicing costs. Constant speed functionality achieves goals of high precision and longevity. The application of a highly rigid structure withstands greater processing strength than traditional machine tools. Its power comes from a servo motor, enabling rotation speed of the rotating shaft to be changed smoothly without any pause through the controller.
Ms. Emily Chang, Sales, Speed Tiger Precision Technology Co. Ltd. introduced the "SN Carbide Drill Series." Its unequal flute spacing and dissymmetrical irregular margins achieve anti-vibration thus improving chip removal and allowing high precision straight cutting. Moreover, the design of the drill bit edge can reduce cutting edge breakage after use. The multi-layer composite ZrN-A coating increases the wear resistance, anti-sticking, and improves the tool life, thus enabling customers to achieve high performance, precision and quality as well as significantly reducing users' costs.
Mr. Daniel Chuang, Marketing Supervisor, Sigma CNC Technology Machinery Co., Ltd. presented the "SIGMA CNC Double Column 5-Axis Machining Center (S5A-4732HH)" which is suitable for difficult-to-cut materials and Titanium Alloy processing. Its machine body has a highly rigid structure design, and the 2-axis head is a mechanical-type simultaneous two-axis rotary spindle, with smooth gear transmission for the B and C axes. Additionally, it comes with self-made heavy-cutting two-stage gearbox design (gear ratio of 1:1.75 and 1:7), that makes its maximum torque reach 1155 N-m. Unique patented design of the Z-axis spindle rail structure allows vibration restraint in machining which largely reduces the vibration in machining hard-to-cut material, enhancing the machining efficiency and reducing the surface roughness, therefore prolonging the tool’s life. In addition, Sigma ‘s CNC machine tools are equipped with FANUC, MITSUBISHI, SIEMENS and HEIDENHAIN controllers, realizing machine networking application operation and data collection through international standard communication protocol functions.
This event attracted over 74 media and buyers from Russia, the UK, Poland, Germany, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and many other countries, and the cumulative broadcasts exceeded 300 times.
